Mmmm. Hershey. Sweet.

Monday, February 1st, 2010

I had the pleasure of speaking to a fantastic group of leaders at D&H Distributing in Harrisburg, PA last week. I love this company–family owned, been around as long as hydrogen, customer oriented and 15 minutes from Hershey, PA.

I’d never been, so of course I carved out an hour or so to drive out there and check it out. They have an amusement park called Chocolate World and a little Pirates of The Carribean style ride through the “factory.”

Ok, so there were 11 whole people there (it is the dead of winter after all), but it was pretty cool to see streetlamps shaped like Hershey Kisses and see cows singing about the critical importance of milk in the chocolate.

The best part was getting the keepsake photo of my tour. I must have looked pretty creepy being the only dude sitting in the dark in my own roller coaster car checking out how cocoa beans are crushed into powder. But hey, you gotta take time out for fun, right? And as you can see by the expression on my face..I was delirious with joy.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee---ierd.
